Davis, in his dotenre, pleaded that he was travelling in (Jormany tor the benefit, of his health, and met the men who MiLtirtoted he could cover the expense of the journey by smuggling ninety-three' bottle* of cocaine. Ho foolishly agreed, but stated he was not a member of a gang regularly trading in cocaine. A previous message stated that David Davis, a passenger from Hamburg. wav charged at Grimsby with smuggling a hundred bottles of cocaine, concealed* in the false bottom of a. trunk. He was remanded, but bail \\a< refused. One account described Davis as an Australian, while another states that he \va* on his way Australia.
