Fourteen hockey matches —two senior men’s, tour junior, three third grade, two senior ladies, and three junior—were played at Kanori Park on Saturday under dry but cold weather conditions. SENIOR. KARORI v. WELLINGTON UNITED ’ A keenly contested game between Karori and Wellington United resulted in Karori securing its first win this season by two goals to nil. In the first half neither team scored, and it was not.till -well into the second half that Lewer, after a- good bit of combined play by the Karori forwards, put the ball into tbo net. United then attacked determinedly and repeatedly, but without result, and some fine pass-, ii)g by Karori a few minutes later en-i abled Roberts to shoot a second goal. I last play on both sides followed, each goal being several times attacked in turn, but no score followed .
