SHEEP-DOG TRIAL
SPLENDID WORK. (From the “Times” Special Reporter.) PALMERSTON K, June 23. The champion sheep-dog trials took place in the enclosure this morning, and were watched with considerable interest. The maximum points were -15. The judges described the trims as altogether good, and it W'as a difficult task to separate first and second. When the award w.as made the first winner proved to be only one point below' the maximum for pulling, driving and yarding. Tho results were : S. Pratt’s (Ivopaki) Darkie, 44 points 1 Harry Buckley’s Hemp, 43 points 2 Ted Leahy’s (Waitotara) Spark, 39 points 3 W. J. Riggins’s (Havelock North) Don, 33 points 4 There were 21 entries, the competition being conducted under the rules and regulations of the North Island Sheep Dog Trial Association.
