PIPING AND DANCING
COMPETITIONS AT DUNEDIN. RESULTS OF THE VARIOUS CONTESTS. PRESS ASSOCIATION. DUNEDIN, May 31. Piping and dancing competitions were continued to-d&y, there being a large attendance at all sessions. Results: — Piobaireatihd Piping Championship of New Zealand. —Archibald McMillan (Dunedin) 1, Charles MacDonald (Wanganui) 2, Duncan Stewart (Southland) 3, John Chmexon (Southland)! 4. There were twelve competitors.
Sword Dance (girls under 10 years).— Dorothy Hall (Timaru) 1, Edna Cameron (Balclutha) 2, Mary Murdoch (Dunedin) 3. There were eleven competitors. Slow Marches, Otago Championship.— Archibald McMillan 1, Duncan Stuart 2, John Cameron 3, Cuthbert Selby (Southland) 4. Eleven competitors. Highland Fling (girls 12 to 15 years).— Eileen McCarthy (Dunedin) 1, Ruby Robinson (Dunedin) 2, Jean MacLachlan (Wellington) 3. Seventeen competitors. Highland Reel, Championship of Otago (all comers, men). —Robert Clark (Dunedin) 1, Norman Kilgour (Timaru) 2. The only competitors. Irish Jig (girls 10 to 12 years).—May Donaldson (Timaru) 1, Doreen Wheeler (Dunedin) 2, Lorna Budge (Dunedin) 3. Nine competitors. March J?laying (for all comers under 16 years).—David Robinson (Invercargill) 1, WiLliam' Budge (Dunedin) 2, Peter Dayidson (Dunedin) 3.
