ANNUAL MEETING

The annual meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Referees’ Association was held at the Town Hall last evening. The president, Mr D. McKenzie (Wellington) occupied the chair. The annual report and balancesheet were adopted. It was decided to recommend the executive to fix the price of the handbook at a rate if possible. The application of the Waikato; Buller, Taihape, and Waipa Associations were approved. A resolution was unanimously carried strongly urging upon the New Zealand Rugby Union that any referee showing his pass shall be permitted free admittance, together with a lady, to any match or matches played under the jurisdiction of the New Zealand Union, and, further, that such pass shall entitle the holders to seats on the stand. In view of the frequent changes at present taking place in the rules of the game, it was decided that the executive of the association should meet once a month. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows:—President, Mr D. McKenzie ; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr L. Sievers; executive, Messrs J. H. Francis, Neilson, Moffitt, Hilton, Fletcher, and Leith; hon. auditor,. Mr C. H. Manson.
