The Wanaka is due on Thursday from southern ports, and will sail the same dav for Auckland with general cargo. I'he Wingatui is due to-day from Auckland, and is expected to leave for Lyttelton, Dunedin, Oamaru and Timaru some time to-day. The Kakapo is to clear Greymouth this evening for Wellington with coal. The Katoa is expected to leave Auckland at the end of the week for Wellington, Lyttelton and southern ports. The Kamona was due to leave Westport last night with coal for Wellington. She should arrive this evening. The K omata will now leave for Westport on Wednesday afternoon with passengers. Mr N. W. Haszard joints the Maori as second officer, relieving Mr C. J. Hackworth. MAKURA AT SUVA The Union Steamship Company’s Makura left Suva for Vancouver at noon on 'Saturday last. THE TEKOA. " The now cargo steamer Tekoa, which has reached Dunedin from Liverpool and northern ports, was safely berthed at the Victoria wharf on a draught of 21ft lin aft and l_6ft 3in forward (says the Dlufiedin. '“Sltor.”) The Tekoa’s length is- 460 ft, and on inspection it must be admitted that she carries a considerable amount of top hamper. When the large steamer -Huntingdon arrived in the Lower Harbour. two weeks ago she was drawing 19ft aft and 12ft forward, and, although she is some 30ft longer than any other vessel yet brought up to Dunedin, it was the opinion of many associated with, shipping that this vessel could have boen safely piloted through the Vic*toria channel and berthed at Dunedin.
