At the Foxton Harbour Board meeting Mr Chrystall asked if the board intended to take any further steps to increase the amount of shipping at the port. .The present position, he said, was serious Money was being spent in improving the channel, but the number of vessels .calling did not increase. ,Mr Nash asked whether the board would authorise him to wait on the General Manager far Railways on Saturday with reference to obtaining shipments of coal at Foxton. It was decided, after discussion,, to write to the Palmerston North Borough Council asking that body to cooperate in the matter of urging that shipments of coal to Foxton be arranged. Mr Nash’s offer to interview tbe General Manager for Railways was accepted.
