DANCER TO MOTORISTS

SUGGESTION TO AUTOMOBILE CLUB. To the last meeting of the committee of the Wellington Automobile Union a member of the club wrote pointing out the danger to motorists at the intersection of Ghuznee and Willis streets, and stating that buildings are right up to the street frontages of .three corners, rendering it extremely difficult to know what is coming. He suggested that this and similar dangerous corners should be made safer by—(l) The installation by the tramways department of a red light to indicate the approach of a tram; (2) tile alteration of the citv by-laws to allow motorists to switch on full head lights 'before reaching such crossing; (3) the erection of a mirror ait each comer of such crossing set at an angle of 45 degrees which would, enable motorists to see round the corners. It was decided to send a copiy of the letter to the City Council with a further suggestion that when the opportunity occurs corners of the pavement should be rounded off at similar dangerous intersections.
