THEFT OF BICYCLES

YOUNG. MAN REMANDED. A. young man was charged in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday with •stealing bicycles on five occasions between February 9th and February Loth, of a total value of £44 10s. Counsel for the accused (Mr A. Cousins) asked that the man be remanded for medical examination. It was explained that up till the war the man had been quite rational and never m trouble. He had served four years with the expeditionary forces, ar.d had been wounded several times. At one period ho had been in a mental hospital at tho front for three months. The man had been slightly unbalanced while in gaol, and two operations had been performed on his head. A remand was granted for one week.
