A resolution, introduced by the Opposition, expressing lack of confidence m- the Government was defeated by the Government receiving a majority of one hundred voteß. There is considerable fear, caused by the attempts of political assassins following yesterday’s premature bomb explosion. , Bitter Opposition attacks against the Government ill tht> Diet caused widespread unrest. Prince Saionji, who is ill in Tokio, has received a series of j letters stating that unless he dies of sickness he will be assassinated when he leaves his house, regardless of the number of guards. Viscount Kyoura, President of the Privy Council, has also 'been threatened.
