FRENCH FOOTBALLERS
Iu view of the report, by cable recently that the French fooballnrs* tour of Australasia had not been definitely settled, the New Zealand Rugby Union cabled to Mr C. Wray, New Zealand representative on the- English Rugby Union, for information as to the accuracy of the report. :A- reply was received yesterday to the effect that the newspaper statement (made by the "Sportsman") was unauthorised, and that the Frenchmen desired to- be baok in France by the second week in October. Other advice concerning the .tour is contained in-& cablegram published elsewhere ip this Issue.
