EXTENSION OF CLOSING DATE TO MAY 20th, 1922. To meet the convenience of a large number of intending competitors In the Dominion Essay Competition, the Now Zealand Alliance announces that the CLOSING DATE in this competition lias been extended to MAY 20th, 1922. This means that essays may be sent in on or before that date instead of in December this year, ae first announced. This applies to ALL CLASSES' in both Senior and Intermediate as welt as in the Junior Groups. May 20th, 1922, is the last date upon which essays may be dispatched. In this competition a total of over <6776 ia offered' m Cash Prizes to thoso writing the best , essays on “Alcohol in. Relation, to the' Human Body and Mind.” The essays are to be based on Education Report No'. 13 on' thie subject, issued by the Government Education Department. A free copy of a reprint of this report is sent to all applicants, together with, other interesting and instructive matter. There axe classes for University students, for .Training College students, pupil-teachers, and probationers, for certificated teachers, for W.F.A. students etc., for working journalists, and for all over 21 not included in the above Classes—prizes 20 guineas to one guinea in each class and championship award of ,30 guineas, * making first possible 50 guineas. Students in High, Technical, and Collegiate Schools and those under 21 are offered, in. -two classes, .prizes from 10 guineas to one guinea, with a championship. of 80 guineas—possible first 40 guineas. Primary school scholars are offered in two classes prizes from five guineas to, 10s 6d and three guinea* to 10s 6d, with a championship award of five guineas.
