The Kakapo and Kamo are due at Wellington to-morrow coal-laden from Greymouth. The Kaituna will arrive at Wellington' to-day from Adelaide and Hobart via New Plymouth. She is to sail this evening for Lyttelton and Auckland, taking cargo for the northern port. The Blackball Coal Company’s steamer Ngakuta will leave Limestone Island to-night for Greymouth direct. The Kahika is due back at Wellington on Sunday from. Greymouth with a load; of coal. < The Kaitangata will leave Wellington at 5 p.m. to-day for Lyttelton and Dunedin, taking cargo for the Otago port. The Koromiko will arrive at Wellington to-day with a cargo -of coal from Westport. After discharge she will return to the latter port. The Komata is to sail from Welling, (on at 5 p.m. to-day with passengers for Westport. 'She is expected back here on Sunday with passengers and a cargo of. coal. The liner Essex is due at Wellington to-morrow from Napier to complete Homeward loading. She will leave here on Tuesday or Wednesday next for London and West of England ports. The Blackball Coal Company’s steamer Ngahere arrived at Wellington last night from Gisborne to discharge the remainder of her cargo of coal into Ihe Piako’s bunkers; The Ngahere will set awav from Wellington to-night for Greymouth. W. M. Bannatyne and Co. advise that the Anchor Company’s steamer Waimea will now not arrive at Wellington until Friday morning from Wanganui. The vessel will (Cave Wellington at 5 p.m. < n Friday with general cargo for Nelson, Westport, and Greymouth. Mr H. B. Larkin, general manager in England for the Commonwealth Government Line, announces that vessels will sail in future every four weeks for Australia, and will accomplish the trip three to four days faster than other oversea steamers trading to Australia. Mr C. M. Howard, of Johnston and Co.’s shipping department, has resumed duty after his holiday trip to Sydney. Chas. McArthur and Co. advise that the steamer Opua is now proceeding from Lyttelton direct to Greymouth instead of calling at Wellington. The Westport dredge Rubi Seddon re Burned commission at Wellington yes tewllay after her overhauling and repairs. Captain G. A. Simpson rejoined the vessel with Mr J- White as chief officer, and Mr H. A. Levestam as chief engineer. The U.. B. Co. s steamer Rialto, 3948 tons, is reported, to have left Buenos Ayres on October 2nd for Wellington and Sydney. „ Captain Broadhouse has been, given command of the large wooden steamer Brixton. at Lyttelton, and Mr H- Helm, of Wellington, is chief, engineer. It is believed that the vessel will load wool at Wellington for the United States. It is also stated that she may coal at Newcastle for Java. A crew will probably sign on this week. The Shaw, Savill and _ Albion Company have received a wireless message from the liner Matakana, on route from Liverpool, stating that she will arrive at Auckland at noon to-day. She has cargo to discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Port Chalmerß. The vessel is to leave New, Zealand about December 10th, oargo-laden for London. NEW CLAN LINER. Another new steamer was added to the Clan fleet ,on August 9th last, when the Clan Maohaughton was launched from the yards of the Ayrshire Dockyard Company. The new vessel is 405 ft in length, by 53ft Sin breadth moulded, by 36ft depth moulded to awning deck; of 6000 tons gross, to carry 8900 tons deadweight, and to steam about 12 knots. The vessel left Wellington on September 23rd. SHIPPING DECLINE. A recent calculation, by Sir Frederick W. Lewis estimates that owing to the very heavy fall in freights, - and the large quantity of tonnage lying Idle, British shipping earnings for 1921 will Only amount to sixty or. seventy million pounds as compared with three hundred and fifty to four hundred million pounds two years ago. Part of this decline is due to the industrial troubles, as during the miners’ strike coal had to be purchased abroad at much higher cost. Renairs had also to be effected abroad during the joiners’ strike. PORT BOWEN AT LONDON. The C., and D. Line have been advised by cable that the Port Bowen arrived at London last Saturday from Wellington. The vessel left here on September 17th. TAHITI LEFT ’FRISCO. Cable advice has been received that the Union Company’s R.M.S. Tahiti leit San Francisco on Saturday last for Wellington and Sydney via : Papeete and Rarotonga. The vessel is due at Wellington on the 20th Inst. - CARGO FOR NEW. PLYMOUTH. The Chatham Islands Fishing Company will dispatch th© steamer Rama from Wellington this evening with general cargo for New Plymouth. The vessel is due at Wellington at noon to-day from Dunedin, Timaru, and Lyttelton. She is expeoted back again on Sunday from New Plymouth to load for southern ports. RARANGA AT AUCKLAND. Ait daybreak yesterday the Shaw, Savill and Albion liner Raranga arrived at Auckland from Middlesbrough, England. She is discharging cargo at tho northern port. The vessel is to load in New Zealand and will sail Anally about December 3rd for London. TAINUI. FORI HOME. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company advise that their passenger liner Tainai will leave Wellington at daybreak on the 22nd inst. for Southampton and London via Panama. The vessel was formerly fixed to sail on the l&tli inst. MANUKA, FOR SYDNEY. The Union Company advise tha+ their Intercolonial passenger steamer Manuka will be receiving cargo at Wellington today for Sydney. The vessel is to leave Wellington at 11 o’clock to-morrow morning for Sydney.
