LAND TAX

THE AMENDMENT BELL. The Land Tax Amendment Bill adds to section five of the Finance Act, 1921, the proviso—“Provided that every taxpayer shall be entitled to a rebate of lO per centum of the emosmt of the tax payable by him under this section (•) who pays or has paid such tax on or before ilk 28th day of November, 1921; or, (b) in oases where a nee date far the payment of any tax (including an increase of tax) ie fixed pursuant to sub-section two of section 127 of the Land and Income Tax Act, 1916, who pays such tax within 21 days after the new date so fixed. The rebate pro* vided for by this section may he deducted and retained by the taxpayer when making the payment.’’
