TRENTHAM IN’ A GOOD MOOD. * The Suburbs Defence Rifle Club com- ' pleted their third match in their team's - series at ranges 3CO and 600 yards on the Sommervillo range at on Sat- , urday. The weather Was at its best, , and riflemen spent a pleasant afternoon. The best score for the day was put up . by A. J. Dodd, with 45 at 300 ana 47 at ; 600 yards, with a grand total of 92. The next best shoot was by V. Dawson, with 90. Several scores of 89 were obtained. The best range shoots at 300 yards were made by Swanson (48), Boon "and Hunt (47), Barcham and Smart (46 apiece). At 600 yards Dodd was best with 47, and i Milroy 46. and President Bertram 45 being the next best. The weather was fine, but a variable breeze from 4 o Clock which was inolined to fishtail coupled with a changing light, had the majority of the marksmen in trouble the ground was sodden with the recent rains and the bright sun caused mi racy effects that upset elevation. Under those conditions scoring was mnch below the average, but Rifleman Carter’s 90 was an excellent performance. Some of the younger division also shot very well quite holding their own with the' club’s best. Results:— A DIVISION.

KARORI CLUB. RIFLEMAN CROXTON'S FINE SCORE. The weather conditions wore fine on Saturday alternoon, when the Karori Rifle Club tired the second match of its I firet series. A light breeze from the right rear-, varying only slightly between shots and improving as the afternoon wore on, enabled some good range sedtes to be registered. The highest score for the day was put on by Deupty-president H. V. Croxton, followed by Riflemen H. Bulford and G. S. Taylor, the latter a junior shot showing much improvement. There was an attendance of thirty-five members. The following are the detail led scores: —
