BETS BY CHEQUE
MANY CLAIMS ON BOOKMAKERS. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received October 30, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, October 28. Trustees and executors are inundating bookmakers with claims for repayment under Mr Justice Sutter’s decision. The sum of £IOOO has already been refunded, and bookmakers consequently are claiming taxation'refunds. The “Daily Express’’ understands that a member of the Jockey Club proposes to introduce a bill in the House of Lords including cheque payments for bets from the 1835 Act.
