He was. given the freedom of the city. There were extraordinary scenes of enthusiasm along the route march to the station, from where Marshal Foch left for Washington. CALL OH EX-PRESIDENT DOCTORS’FORBID CONVERSATION. (Received October 31, 12.10 a.m.) NEW YORK, October 29. The “New York Times” Washington correspondent states that Marshal Foch, after the official reception at White House, called on ex-President Wilson, but the latter’s secretary brought a message that the ex-Presi-dent was unable to receive him by doctor’s orders. The latter feared that Mr Wilson’s war emotions might be aroused by a talk with the gpneralis- , simo, and his condition be ‘ endangered. Marshal Foch left his card.
