ON A WET WICKET
AUSTRALIANS AT DURBAN. COLLINS BATS WELL. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received October .30, 5.5 p.m.) CAPETOWN. October 29. At Durban, playing against Natal, Australia in their first innings made 212 (Collims 101, Gregory 55). Bowling, Nourse took 2 wickets for 23 runs. Carter 4 for 46. Heavy rain on the previous day caused postponement of the commencement till 2.15, when Natal sent the vieitors in. After the first wicket went down, the batsmen batted for runs, nobody staying in long with Collins. The wicket was very wet. It was good bowlimg and sound fielding that dismissed Australia for ' considerably less than, -the first wicket partnership of 105 suggested to be likely. A feature of the game was Carter's fine bowling, he maintained a splendid length, varying his pace throughout.
