THE COMPETITIONS

COMMENCING THIS MORNING. This morning at 10 o'clock the Wellington. Competitions Society will commence its fourth annual festival at the Town Hail and concert chamber. Owning to the large number of entries both halls will bo fully employed the whole season. Recalls in the various classes wiill be held in the main hall every evening, thus ensuring a varied programme of high-class items. This evening the - official, opening will take place, when His .Excellency the Gover-nor-General will be present. ‘Judging from the entries received the standard of work by various competitors will be much higher than in former years, and tho society is assmod of a successful season.
