The Australians defeated Warwickshire by an innings and 61 runs. The Australians did not continue their innings to-day, Armstrong declaring it closed. In their second innings Warwickshire were disposed of for 118. The weather was fine and thfe wicket firm after rolling. Bates and Green faced Gregory and McDonald, and the first four overs were maidens. Off the first seven overs only six runs wore scored. In half an hour 22 went up, of whicli Bates was responsible for 20. At 27 Armstrong relieved McDonald. Green went at 31, stumped by Oldfield. Bates, when his score was 23, played a yorker on to his wicket. Quaife partnered Charlesworlh, and at 43 McDonald went on vice Gregory. Off his first over Armstrong brilliantly • caught Quaife.
