MELTING OF THE COUNCIL. Tho Victoria College Coxmcil met last evening, Mr P. Levi presiding. In view of the opinion of the council a solicitors no further action is to be taken -with legard to tho raised by the Education Department s decision to, the T. G. M a earthy grant .jjjaala,-' bequest for the purposes of a GovStftaEent subsidy. The* second instalment of the Jacob Joseph scholarship (.=£3o) is to be to Mr I. L. G. Sutherland, he having completed his thesis to the satisfaction of the Professorial Board. > The appointment of Mr R. S. Gilmour as temporary librarian was confirmed.
