John Young was charged with being responsible for the recent burglary, when .£IOB worth of jewellery was stolen from the window of Bernard Itissen, pawnbroker. Evidence was given that the jewellery had been recovered under a grass sod at the Claudelands showgrounds. Accused was seen in the locality by a railwayman on the day of the burglary. Accused was also identified by a young woman as the man she saw taking jewellery from the broken window. Accused pleaded not guilty. He was committed for trial.
