“SOCCER” CONTROL

MEETING OF WELLINGTON ASSO* cIATION.

The weekly meeting of the Wellington Football Association was held last evening at the Y.M.C.A. rooms' Present —. Messrs W. Auld (chairman), A. Williams (hon. secretary), H. Yeoman, C. Webster,. P. Banks, R. Hendry, H. Livorsage, H. U. Godber, A. E. Wells, L. White, C. F. Ward (delegate). Entries for all divisional cup competitions will close on Wednesday next, July 27fch, at 5 p.m. The Canterbury Footbal 1 Association wrote accepting July 30th for the fixture at the- Basin Reserve for the Brown Shield game versus Wellington, and asked that a Junior Division game, Canterbury v. Wellington, be played as a curtain-raiser.—The committee agreed to play the match in question. ■ The Nelson Football Association wrote asking for a definite date when it was decided to send a Wellington team to Ntel’sojn.—The matter was ; left in the hands of the secretary to report. The Rovers Association Club asked for permission to play a match at Martinborough on July 30th.—The request -was referred to the ooys' (sixth division) subcommittee. The Palmerston North Association wrote suggesting that they would like to enter a challenge for the Brown Shield. - It was pointed out that the challenge must come through the New Zealand Council, and that their challenge would then probably be too late thi6 season. The transfer of H. Boadl© from Petone to Thistle was refused. It was decided to replay the macth St. Peter's v: St. Thomas (fifth division) at the end of the season, if necessary, the game having been stopped before tithe owing to inclement weather. The explanation of the Karori team in playing certain members against Gas Company was deemed to be satisfactory. In view of the Wellington schools' match Against Palmerston schools, at Pdlmerston North on August 6th, it was notified that trial game swill be played at Anderson Park on Friday, July 22nd.
