Mr R. T. Bailey, of the Labour Department, proceeded against J. >. ; .anko, at the Magistrate's Court, yesterday, for failing to pay award rates to an employee, E. R. Martin. Mr 11. F. O’Leary represented defendant, who pleaded guilty. Mr Bailey stated that Martin was engaged l to eing and play in Sanko's tearooms at a wage of C-3 weekly,, and when given notice of his dismissal had informed the defendant that his wages should have been 3s 6d per hour. Hie was, and is, a member of the union. Mr O’Leary admitted that the worker bad a right to claim his arrears. The magistrate decided to fine Sanko £2, and Martin, who also admitted the breach, £l. CATARRH is most inconvenient and ' roublesome, and, if neglected, soon becomes chronic. A < simple and reliable remedy is now available.
