REFEREES’ ASSOCIATION,. LAST NIGHTS” MEETING. \ The weekly meeting of the Wei lingtori Rugby Referees’ Association was held last night. Mr R. T. Bailey presided over a large attendance of members. Oh the motion of the chairman, a letter of condolence waa ordered 'to be sent to Mr T. A. Fletcher on the demise o: hia mother-in-law. , Mr S. J. Gully wias unammously elected a member of the association. Duller Referees* Association wrote, requesting that this association nominate it for, membership.—Decided to accede to the request. „ . The Wellington Rugby Unaon wrote, notifying that .players had been suspended as follows: —Price, for two weeks; Parrant, for a like period. The classification committee recommended that Messrs S. Hylton, E. Perry, and A. Smart be promoted to eenior status. ' . ' . . „ Mr J. Moffitt reported on the top or ths Wellington Referees’ Association to Christchurch and it was decided to write an J thank Messrs Roy. CaverhiU, H. Taylor, J. Mercer, andi F. Schmidt tor their kind attention to the Wellington referees whilst in ■Ghristchuireh. It was' decided to second the nomination of the following associations for membership to the New Zealand Referees’ Association:—Manakaiu, Waihi, Te A roll'd, and Waipa. A considerable discussion took 'place over rulinga. It was decided to thank all those pen tlemen who assisted the association on the occasion of the members’ absence from Wellington... It was decided lo forward the names of Messrs Hylton, Perry, and Smart to tits New Zealand Rugby Union. It was decided that tho New Zealand Rugby. Union be requested to provide seat: for the members of this association at all matches under its jurisdicIt. was announced that Mr A. E. Neilson had been selected to referee in the match Springboks v. Wanganui. MANAWATU MATCHES." The inter-club matches on Saturday .resulted:— H.S.A. (5) v. Foil ding (31 Western United (5) v. Kia Toa (3).
