TOTALISATOR INVESTMENTS. AUCKLAND MEIE,TING. At the Auckland_ Steeplechase meeting just concluded <£2/2,2&9 10s was put through the totalizator. This, says the ''Herald/* represents an increase of <£01,858 IQs, compared with the figures of last year’s winter meeting, when-' .£220,301 was invested, on the machine. The total* amount put through the machine at the four meetings held by the club during the year amounts to «£l,146,430, compared with <£1,052,146 invested at five meetings held by the club during the previous racing year, an increase of <£94,334. During the 191&-20 racing season an extra day's racing was! held at Hllerslie in honour of the visit of the Prince of Wales. On that occasion <£77,476 was ■ invested On the totalisator. Deducting this amount from the figures of that season and comparing the -four ordinary meetings of therespeotive- seasons, the increase in t-ota* listor investments this, season amounts to <£171,810. The meetings held by tho club during the current season aggregated eleven, days* racing, during which 86 events were' decided, as against twelve clays and. 93 events during the previous season; In the 1918-19 season the totalisator 'figures for the four meetings amounted to <£615,558.' The 1917-18 sea-' son, With eight days and 62 events, produced a total of <£516,843; that of 1916-17, with eleven days and 85. events, <£568,401. The figures for the 1918-19 season were affected "by the influenza epidemic at the end of 1918., The detailed figures for the meetings- for the year -just ended, oom pared with those for the two pro. vioug seasons, are:—
