SPEEDING UP TRANSPORT
COMBINATION OF SEACRAFT AND AIRCRAFT. AN INTERESTING PROPOSAL. Publish ed in "lSs Tlnißi.* (Received June 30, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON,. June 9. A project for the inter-working of scacraft with aircraft for the pnrpoac of speeding up Empire transport especially mails, will be considered by the shipping committee which is advising the Imperial Conference. The plan suggests that liners should carry a swift aeroplane capable of ascending from the ship with the mails when within flying dist&ncp of the destination, and alighting at an aerodrome convenient to rapid train transport.
