MEETING OF ASSOCIATION. SIX-ASIDE TOURNAMENT. The' .management committee of the ■Wellington Hockey Association met last evening. Mr Ricnarda was in the chaar. A communication was received from Mr Manning accepting the appointment of sole selector for the association. It wa’s resolved to play the third grade match, Huia v. Karon, at 2 p.m. next Saturday on No. 6 ground and the junior A match, ’Varsity A v. Wesley B, on No. 4 ground, at 3 p.m. The ’Varsity Club asked permission to play their match later, owing to the reunion dinner being held on Saturday midday, and this arrangement was adopted in order to overcome the difficulty. Mr L- S. P. Butcher, offioial delegate to the New Zealand Hockey Association, furnished a brief report of the recent meeting of that body at Christchurch. It was decided l to submit, as a remit, to the New Zealand Association: "That, with regard to the playing of representative shield matches, no team should have the right to play more than one match in a season, except the holders, but in the event of the holders being defeated they should not have the right to a. challenge in the current season.”

It was decided that school hoys’ practices should continue during the school holidays, if so desired by the schools, and that the matches should be commenced after the holidays. The question of holding a six-aside tournament in all grades on June 3rd was discussed. It was finally decided to ask the various clubs for entries. If sufficient entries are received the tournament will be proceeded with. It was decided to enter a challenge for the Cummings Junior Cup, which is at present held' by the Canterbury Association. An endeavour is to be made to arrange for the match to be played during August. Clubs are to be asked to furnish nominations for the Junior representative leant.'
