SOLDIERS ' BALLOT
MONTHLY MEETING OF LAND BOARD. The monthly meeting of tbe Board was held yesterday, Mr G. H. McClure presiding. An application by the Farmers’ Fertiliser Company for an extension on their timber cutting rights over a block of land in g-' tieke for one year to date from December Ist, 1920, was received, it was resolved, on the ranger’s report, to recommend the extension to the Minister for Lands for approval. Tt was decided that a qmll bit of land at Wallace street (lot, town acre 726, city of Wellington) be offered for sale at an upset price of £45. Tbe board examined applicants for seven sections on bush land opened for application on sale poster No. 773. A ' allot was taken, resulting as followa.—Charles Duffy, 209 acres, Hunua, section 11, block 2; John Francis Carrol, 1626 acres, RetaruVe, section 1, blod 14; George H. WiUington. 6 acres and -H4 acres respectively, Retaruke, secr ioi ¥ 5, blocks 11 and 15: Percy Andrew Cootes. 563 acres, Whirl naki, section 8, block 3. No applications were received in respect of the other three lots.
