TO BE SOLD BY TENDER. OPERATIONS FOR REFLOATING THE SCOW. The South Bitish Insurance Company is ‘announcing the pale by tender of the auxiliary bcow "Magic as she lies ashore near Pencarrow head, on behalf of all concerned in the vessel. Tenders will dose at 10 a.m. to-morrow. Airy tender will not necessarily be accepted. Yesterday Mr P. Wood, of T. Wood and Son, went out to the Magic with a gang of half a dozen shipwrights for the purpose of making preparations for relaunching the vessel. In a ship’s boot they..ran out two anchors, of 5 cwt and) 7 owt respectively, to a distance of about a couple of hundred yards and 1 made them fast by. lines to the scow. The ; men were rigging up a pump to|be driven off the Magic’s oil-winch and got the ship’s two hand pumps ready for action. It was Mr Wood’s intention to putch up the Magic’s hull at low tide, which would give the men about 6 working hours, and then pump the vessel out. Yesterday afternoon, however, Mr Wood was notified Iby the ■underwriters to cease these operations as the vessel da to be offered for sale.
