THE FORTNIGHTLY MEETING. The fortnightly meeting of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals took place in the secretary’s office, Customhouse quay, the president (Mr F. Meadoweroft) in the cliair. Hie secretary reported the receipt of correspondence from various schools where the children had formed junior leagues of the S.P.C.A. The inspector reported 15 cases of cruelty to horses and cattle, which lie bad dealt with. Subscriptions received amounted to £l2 Is 3d, including £3 11s and Os from Island Bay school, £2 11s 3d from The Tea-race school, £1 4s from. - the Dominion Laboratory staff, £1 Is ' from P. Lemberg, 10s fr.om the Masterton side school.
