DESTRUCTIVE POLICY
BRITISH LABOUR PARTY MR LLOYD GEORGE WARNS THE ELECTORS. A CANDID STATEMENT. By Telegraph—Press A sen. —Copyright Australian and S'/-. Cable Assoc'rtion. (Received March 18, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, March IS. The bulk of Air Lloyd George’s speech at the 1920 Club was an attack on the Labour Party. He said it was a great formidable party which would become the dominating party unless steps were taken to inform the electors, what were the issues involved. There were millions of people whose political views were unformed. They must be shown that tlicp Labour policy means the destruction of private property and private enterprise, and the conversion of the whole means of production into a State machine. That may be good or bad, but it was a complete revolution. If he thought the Coalition existed merely to defend the interests of the power and profits of capital he would quit the Coalition in disgust; but the capitalists were as deeply concerned for the people’s welfare as anybody.
