A fairly dull market still prevails in the market for potatoes. But lines. which are free from blight, are selling steadily at moderate values. A somewhat similar position exists in respect to onions, the market being fairly quiet. Yesterday a quotations were given as: Potatoes, Hutt. A 7 to A 8; Otaki, A 5 to A 6; onions. A 8 to A 3 ton. OTHER vegetables. Vegetable quotations have slightly improved on those of last week, and a keen demand exists for superior -fine& Green peas have now become cheeper; also cucumbers. Choice heavy cabbages are drawing satisfactory prices. Marrows are fairly plentiful end cheap. Pumpkins are now on the market in moderate supply, and maintain fairly low rates. Supplies of pie-melons are commencing to come forward, with a tendency to realise generous prices.. Celery also is finding its way to the - market, but as yet high rates rule. Vegetable quotations yesterday were:— Cabbages, choice heavy 10s to 12s, primp 8s to 10s, others 5s to 6s; caulifiowws. choice heavy 12s to 14s, prime 10s to 11s, others 6s to 8s; cucumbers, 5s to 7s 6d case; French beans, 2d to 3d ib; scarlet runners, 2£d lb; green peas, Is 9d to 2s peck- spring onions, Is to Is 6d bunch; marrows, 2s 6d to 3s 6d sack; carrots, 6s to Ss; beetroot, 3s to 8s sack; parsnips, 11s to 13s; pumpkins, 7s to Ds sack: pie-melons, 8s tq 10s sack; eellery, 2s to 4s doz. POULTRY. A keen demand continues for all classes of poultry, and satisfactory prices are being obtained. Supplies are coming torward continually to meet the demand. Some quotations for poultry given yesterday were : Hens, 5s to 6s; roosters, heavy 6s C-d to 7s 6d; cockerels, light 3s to 4s Pd pair; ducks, 10s to 12s; geese. 12s to i3s pair;, turkeys. With the approach of Easter the demand for eggs has becfgne keen, and consequently values have undergone a slight increase with a further upward tendency for some time.
