OTAKI’S FINANCES
NATIVE RATES IN 1 ARREARS. (Special to “'Times.”) The clerk to the Gtaki Town Board reports: —"I have to report as under: The amount of rates struck for 1920-21 for Europeans totalled .£1033 18s 9d; of this .£733 3s 3d has been paid up to date. The amount of rates struck for 192021 for natives was £lB7 12s 3d, of this only £32 5s 9d has been paid to date. The total outstanding for current rate 3 is £426 2s. “A rough draft of arrears in native rates has been prepared, but before same can be presented to the solicitors, or liens applied for, a detailed statement of properties must be attached. I hope to complete the same soon after the board meets.
The total receipts for the year totalled £2013 Is Bd. whilst the total expenditure was £1832 3s 4d. The bank debit balance 18 £539 11s 2d, which, together with £SOO due to Mr Brown, amounts to £1099 11s 2d. Accounts totalling £92 15s are presented for payment, thereby bringing tho balance to £1192 6s 2d. The bank limit is £1264. Accounts for wages, etc., paid during the month, amounting to £63 5s 4d. are also attached for approval.—F. G. Davies, Town Clerk.” The report was adopted.
