A quantity of revolvers and ammunition was dis.cv. - 1 in the house. Five police were wounded, two seriously. (Received March lfi. 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, March 16. A semi-official account of the Brunswick street affair shows that it was , one of the most savage fights in the city’s history. Apart from the attaca from the houses there was a regular 0711bush in the street. Several parties of armed civilians opened lire .on two tenders loaded with auxiliaries, who were about to raid the premises. The driter, with great presence of mind, instead 0/ stopping, charged a group ahead, from which came a very heavy fusillade. The auxiliaries leaped out midst the firing. Fierce hand-to-hand duels ensued. The commanding officer emptied both his revolvers and found himself confronted with a large automatic pistol. He tackled his assailant low, grounded him, and took him prisoner. Here three more of the attackers were slain. One auxiliary was to badly wounded that he died later. Another is dying. The auxiliaries, while routing out armed men in the vicinity, engaged in a series of isolated encounters and suffered and inflicted several casualties.
