N.Z. FARMERS' CO-Ol'. DISTRIBUTING CO,

The annual picnic of the New Zealaud co-op. Distributing to-, Ltd., was held on Wednesuay, March £uh, at the Hutt Park, Pc tone. Before lunch a cricket match, Married v. Single Men, was won by the latter after an interesting game. In the afternoon an extensive, sporta piogramme was gone through. The races were keenly contested, tile honours going to: —looyds Staff Handicap (men;, W. J. H. Lackey; 100yds Ladies* Staff Handicap, Miss K Pownall; 100yds Married Men, S. A. Giiler; 50yds Married Ladies, Mrs W. B. Wilson; 75yds Sack Race (men), L. Turner; 50yds. Sack Race (ladies), Miss I. Davidson; ICOy-ds Threelegged Race, Miss I. Davidson and G. Gardiner; 50yds Boot Race (men), W. J. H. Lackey; 220yds Staff Handicap (men), G. Gardiner; 30yds Wheelbarrow Race, Miss 1. Davidson and L. Turner; 50yds Cigarette. Race, Mina N. Warring and G. Gardiner; 50yds Elopement Race, Miss R. Johansen and R. Carniody; lOCyds Departmental Relay Race, Sales Department; Nail-driving Competition, Mrs Wilson 1, Mrs Giiler Miss I’ownall 3. Owing to the unavoidable absence of the general manager, Mr S. Fergusson, tho prizes were presented by the secretary. Mr S. E. Lambert. The pleasure of the day's outing was greatly enhanced by *tho admirable arrangements made by the committee, which consisted of Misses Davidson and Hyde, Messrs Wilson, Turner, Ford raid Cowles (secrotary). Tho committee was accorded three cheeis befoi*e tho picnickers dispersed, tired but happy.
