Douglas (56) and Woolley (27) resumed. Douglas, batting steadjly, brought his score to 72, when he lost Woolley, who, at 36, returned a hot one to Richardson, who took a good catch- Wool lev batted for fifty minutes, and got three -l’s and one 6. Douglas had a close shavo when 84, off his pads. Wilson misjudged one from Love ridge, and Ambler whipped off the haiku Douglas brought 600 up after seven hours’ batting. The captain reached his first century in tho tour in 125 minutes. Parkin was badly missed when 8. He then straight drove Loveridge for 4, and the next ball he was caught and bowled by Loveridge. Dolphin suffered a similar fate ns Parkin, being caught and bowled by Loveridge’s first ball. Howell reached 6. and was then clean bowled by Loveridge. Douglas carried his bat for 106. He was batting for three hours, and got elevou 4’e.

With a deficit of 432, South Australia made a disastrous start. S’mith, when 8, missed Howell, and the ball glanced off his pads on to the wicket. Fender relieved Waddington. Richardson stepped out to the third ball, missed, and was stumpe-d. He had been batting for forty minutes. At the tea adjournement the score was two , for 132. Harris was 62 and R undell 40. Wilson did not resume, owing to injured muscles in his bark. Harris and Rundell had a superb partnership. Harris scored 84 ,in 152 minutes, and was bowled by Fender.
