Though reports ot the Russian revolution continue contradictory, it seems clear that the rebels are fifth ting stronglv. Reports received in Pans; state that the revolt has extended to White Russia and Ukraine, where bands of anti-Bolsheviks hold sway. Advices from Moscow- state that numerous plots to murder La nin resulted in the formation of an inner Red Life Guard of 3000 picked Communists. Armed visitors to the Kremlin, who were arrested, admitted that they had instnictiofis from a central organisation for the" liberation of Russia to luuruer Soviet members. Petrograd is apparently still the storm centre. The rebels are fighting strongly. It is variously reported that they have established a social »\'i oLutionai-y committee, which is in communication with Kronstadt; also that the workers have proclaimed a general strike, demanding the convocation of a properly constituted National Assembly. Kronstadt was shelled throughout FriiTay from Krasnoyagorka. Petrograd and Oranienbaum, and __ is still burning. Deserters from Krasnoyagorka describe the Reds- and Chinese as compelling the soldiers to man halfdemolished defences by threatening to turn machine-guns upon them. Kovno advices state that Moscow Sovieters have resolved that as t a world revolution is not now maturing relations with foreign capitalist States are indispensable, even at the sacrifice of fundamental principles. Riga advices state that Toncha toff skis was relieved of his command owing to three serious reverses. Trotsky has personally taken command on the Kronstadt front, with headquarters at Seetroretzk, west of Petrograd. The Communists fear fresh attacks. Armoured trains are patrolling the coast between Petrograd and Sestroretzk. A cable from Narva states that Kronstadt has food sufficient for four months and ammunition enough for some years. Victor Tchernoff, head of the revolutionary committee, has arrived at Retal. He was former president of the Constitutional Assembly formed after the first revolution. News of the Ukraine rising received from Poland states that the Ukrainian General Machno, who is in command of operations, has captured Ekaterinoslay. Troops are advancing towards the Crimea. The members of Soviet committee® taken at Elisabetgrad were shot or hanged. i WAR ON KRONSTADT EXPULSION OF SOVIIgT OFFICIALS FROM PETROGRAD. COPENHAGEN, March 13. A general strike is in operation in Petrograd. The strikers expelled the Soviet officials from their offices. The Soviet has formally declared War against Kronstadt. Reports from Helsingfors state that 150 Bolshevik commissars were crucified at Czaritsin, while the Soviet rulers were overthrown at Kiev, Tambov, &mi Orel.
