The Union Company hate been advised that the steamer Waikawa, en route from Sydney, passed Honolulu on February 28th, en route to San Francisco. Mr It. Roberts has signed on the Karamu's articles as third engineer. Messrs W. D. Muir and G. Ritson have joined the Calm as second officer and second engineer respectively.

The schooner Huia proceeded to the Auckland powder grounds on Friday to load explosives for southern ports from the Crosby Hall. Mr J. Knox has joined the Baden l'oivell as mate. The coastal steamer Blenheim was brought off the Wellington patept slip yesterday and is to leave here on Thursday for Havelock and bays. The Kanna is expected back at Wellington about Saturday from Dunedin, and will proceed from here, with general cargo, to Auckland. Captain R. Reed succeeded Captain J. C. Barnett as master of the Rosamond yesterday. Mr M. Robertson joined the vessel as extra officer yesterday. The Kauri is to go into dock at Auckland before proceeding to Newcastle. She Is expected to sail for that port next Thursday. The Treglisson, which arrived at Auckland from Hampton Roads on February 24th, with a cargo of coal, berthed at the King’s wharf ou Saturday morning. Tho John was due at Wanganui last night from Oamaru. The vessel will probably proceed next to Tarakohe. The Tofua will commence discharging her cargo from Sydney at Auckland early this week. Her future movements are uncertain.

The Katoa, now discharging cargo at Auckland from Wellington, will afterwards load for Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin.

Tho Kurow is to sail from Auckland for Dunedin direct next Thursday. The barque Dartford will commence unloading her cargo of coal at Auckland this week. She is still anchored in the stream.

The Whangape is to leave Auckland for Newcastle this week to load coal for New Zealand The Fukaki made her departure from Lyttelton for Newcastle on Friday afternoon. It is understood that this vessel is under charter for about twelve months to run between Newcastle and Lyttelton. The Hinemoa, which has been- held up at Wellington owing to the waterside trouble, got away on her round trip to tho South Island lighthouses at 7.30 o’clock yesterday morning. The vessel will be absent about three weeks. The Putiki arrived at Lyttelton early ou Saturday morning from Gisborne, included in her cargo "being 34 polo ponies. She sailed last night for Napier, with general cargo. The Canterbury Company’s steamer Calm . which left Wellington at 10.30 o’clock last night for Lyttelton, Timaru, and Dunedin, will load at Dunedin. Timaru, and Lyttelton, in the order named, for Wellington. The ve9eel is due back here on Wednesday of next week. The Kini is to load coal at Greymouth at the end of this week for Wellington: The Paloona will leave Wellington at noon to-day for Melbourne, taking passengers and cargo. The Koranui is to complete discharge at Wellington to-day, and will then load here for New Plymouth. The Poherua will leave Wellington today for Westport to load coal for Lyttelton. The special "stop-work” meeting of the Wellington Waterside Workers' Union has been postponed till to-morrow morning. The Kaiapoi is due at Wellington today from Lyttelton, and after discharge will proceed on to New Plymouth on Thursday. The Union Company advise that the Garbeta will sail from Wellington on Friday for Newcastle to load more coal for New Zealand. The Rosamond is to leave Wellington at 11 o’clock this morning for Picton to load chnff for Westport and Greymouth.’ The vessel will subsequently load general cargo and timber at the West Coast ports for Wellington. KENNEDY RESUMES SATURDAY. Levin and: Co. advise that the coastal steamer Kennedy, which litas been undergoing extensive repairs at this port, is to leave Wellington on Saturday for Foxton. The vessel, it will be remembered, was severely damaged through stranding on the Manawatu bar some months ago. SUSSEX LEFT PANAMA. The Sussex left Panama Canal on March Bth. after undergoing repairs necessitated by her grounding at ColonShe is laden with cargo from St. John for New Zealand and Australian ports. The vessel is due at Auckland about April sbh, and at Wellington about April 14th. THE WEST -HOLBROOK. The Weet Holbrook arrived at Auckland from San Francisco on Friday afternoon, and anchored in the stream, where she will remain until berthing accommodation is' available. She left San Francisco on February 14th, and called at Puget .Sound and Honolulu en route. Fine weather was experienced on the voyage. The vessel has, 2200 tons of cargo for Auckland, including 37,000 cases of gasolene, and 550,000 feet of lumber. On discharge she will proceed to Napier and Wellington. The West Holbrook is expected at Wellington about next Tuesday. She has 2400 tons of cango for this port, including 40,000 cases of oil, and also general cargo. THE MATAKANA. Alexander Stephen and Sons, Ltdlaunched at Lintihouso, Govan, on December 13th the twin-screw steamer Matakana, 477 ft by 62ft 9in by 42ft 'lOin, and of 8200 tons gross, built to the order of the Shaw, Saviill and Albion Company for its general cargo and frozen meat trade between New Zealand, Australia, and the United Kingdom. She is classed with Lloyd’s Register, and has four holds and. four main ’tween decks insulated, the shelter ’tween decks, bridge, aud two holds bein<* adapted, for general cargo- The machinery, also constructed by the builders, consists of two sets of double reduction geared turbines of Brown-Ourtis type, taking superheated steam from two d.e. and two s.e. boilers haying Bowden's forced draught. The naming ceremony was performed by Mrs Adams, wife of Mr George Adams, the company's superinteliWing engineer. THE PORT CAROLINE. Cable advice has been received, by the C- and. D. Line that the Po-rt Caroline left England last Friday for Wellington, via Panama. The vessel is bringing 10.800 tons of Welsh coal to put out at Wellington. She is due here about AurU 25t>

The Shaw, Savill and Albion Companv’ s steamer Waiwera, which left Auckland at 7.30 a-m. on Sunday for London, took the following cargo from Auckland :—40,803 carcases mutton, 6715 qrs beef, 30,000 boxes butter, 11,160 crates cheese, 1411 pkgs. "frozen sundries. 3610 bales wool, 242 pkgs. hides, 44 casks pelts, 1233 casks tallow, 97 sks. cocoa beans, 244 cases and 404 sks. kauri gum, 1047 oases milk powder, 9488 cases glaxo, 27 Vanilla beans, 644 sks. copra, . 1919 sacks casein, 36 cases preserved meats, 111 pkgs- sundries. She is due at Londou about the end of April. THE RAMA. The Chatham Islands Fishing Company’s steamer Rama left Lyttelton at. midnight on Sunday for Waitangi and Owenga (Chatham Islands). The vessel is to load fisli at the Ohatliams, and is clue at Wellington about Monday next from there. THE PORT MACQUARRIE. The C. and D. Line advise that the Port Macquarrie, cargo-laden from London, left Fort Kembia at 6 p.m. on Saturday, for Auckland, Napier and AVellington, to complete discharge. The vessel is due at Auckland about Thursday, and at Wellington about the 27th inst. WHAKATANE LEFT PANAMA. Cable advice has been received by tho New Zealand Shipping Company that the Whakatane arrived at Colon on the 9th inst., en routo from London, and left Panama on tho same date for Suva and Auckland. The vessel will complete discharge at Auckland. HURUNUI FROM NEW YORK. The New Zealand Shipping Company advise that the Hurunui is expected to leave New York next Saturday cargoladen for Auckland, Wellington and Sydney. The vessel should reach Auckland about April 23rd. GORALA FROM U.S.A. The Union Company advise that the Gorala, cargo-laden from New Orleans and Port Arthur, left Panama on February 16th for Lyttelton and Wellington. The vessel is due at Lyttelton about March 16th. RUAPEHU’S ITINERARY. The New Zealand Shipping Company advise that the Ruapehu is to leave Lyttelton on Thursday for Dunedin, Bluff, Lyttelton and Wellington. The vessel is expected to get away from Wellington on April 141 h for London via Panama. COAL FROM NEWCASTLE. Cable advice has been received by the Union Company that the Waitemata- left Newcastle on Friday coal-laden for Wellington. The vessel is due here on Thursday morning. i RIMUTAKA’S ITINERARY. The New Zealand Shipping Company aclvise that the Rimutaka will leave Wellington for Homeward loading next week for Tokomaru Bay, Napier, and return to Wellington. The vessel is to sail from Wellington on April 7th for London via Panama. CARGO FOR SYDNEY. The Union Company advise that the Kaitoke i« due at Wellington to-morrow from Dunedin; and is to sail on Thursday for Sydney, taking general cargo. The Kaitoke is acting in place of the Torawera. TRELYON IN PORT. The A. and A. Line chartered steamer Trelyon arrived at Wellington yesterday afternoon from New York via Panama and Auckland, and berthed at No. 14, Jervois quay, to discharge 4000 tons to the agency of the Fereral Line. The vessel is expected to get away about Monday or Tuesday next for Lyttelton, Timaru and Dunedin, to put out the remainder of her cargo. MANUKA FROM SYDNEY. The Union .Company advise that the Manuka is to leave Sydney on Thursday with passengers and cargo for Wellinf* ton. The vessel is due here on Monday, and is to sail on the return trip to Sydney and Hobart on tho 24th inst. THE ADMIRAL CODRINGTON. The steamer Admiral Codrington, by working overtime till 11 o’clock last night, completed discharge of the Wellington portion of her cargo of jarrah from Western Australia. A fine performance was achieved in discharging 1.750,000 ft of timber in ten working days —an average of 175,000 ft per day. The work was carried out in a highly satisfactory manner, without one complaint or hitch. The ship was unloaded under the direct supervision of Mr J. Currie, former 6tevedoTe, instructed by tho agents, J. Campbell, Ltd. The Admiral Codrington will get away from Wellington at 7 o’clock this morning for Auckland to complete discharge. CORINTHIC IN PORT. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Co.’s liner Corinthic arrived in the stream at Wellington at 3-10 p.m. yesterday from London and Southampton via Panama. The vessel was boarded by the Port Health Officer, the Customs, and the Immigration Department officers. No deaths occurred on the voyage, and there tvere no cases of sickness on arrival. DORSET FOR, LONDON. 5 The New Zealand Shipping Company advise that the Dorest is to sail from Wellington at daybreak on Thursday for London via Panama. The vessel has completed loading, and is now bunkering. She will take passengers for Home. AUSTRALIND IN PORT. The steamer Australind, coal-laden for the New Zealand Government, from Hampton Roads, arrived off the Wellington heads late last night, and signalled for a pilot.
