POLICE-AND MAINTENANCE CASES.,
Mr F. K- Hunt, S.M., occupied thol bench, at a Bitting an the Magistrate's! Court yesterday, and disposed of the following offenders : For drunkenness, twelve first offenders were treated in the usual manner. Harry fiord was fined 10s, in default 48 hours’ imprisonment for a second’ offence of drunkenness. Isidore Jaoohus was fined JBI, in de-| fault three days’ imprisonment, on making his third appearance for drunken-] ness Sydney Morrow was similarly dpalt| with a second offence within tliei statutory period. 1 ' Duncan Barclay Mercer was fined -El,, in default three days' imprisonment, fora second offence of drunkenness. Maintenance. William Walters B. Hounslow was ordered to pay 20s per week towards the support of each, of his two children. RercivaJL Joseph Tthomas was ordered to pay «£2 weekly for maintenance of his wife. Arthur Davis was ordered to pay «£5 IGs, in. default one month's imprisonment. The warrant to be suspended, for twenty-eight days. In another maintenance case Archibald T. Cooker was sentenced to three months* imprisonment; the warrant to be suspended as long as he pays 30s per week off the arrears, which totalled «£ll7. James Henry Burn was sentenced to three months' imprisonment, the warrant to be suspended as Ion" as he pays tho sum of 15s per week.
