The result of the above match was a drawn game Johnsonville batting first and compiled in two and a half hours 187 for five wickets and then declared. T. T. Moore, a veteran, batted very carefully for 54, which took two hours ■to make, and Coleman just missed his century, being bowled when 99. Wesley went to the wickets at 5 o’clock, and by 6 >had put on 98 for the loss of only two -wickets. Hokes 27 not out, Hughes 25 not out, McLean 23, and Bate 13 retired. Bowling for Johnsonville, Biamlev one for 37, and for Wesley, McLean four for 57 did best. A close game resulted in a game played between the Hutt third B and the Y.M.C.A. at Hutt recreation ground last Saturday afternoon. The visiting team batted first and made 73. Fletcher and Mallett 24 each. The suburban team had’ made 97 for five wickets down, but in tho end the home, team secured a lead. Teagle 21, Matthews 19, ' Baumber not out 13, Meech 11 did best. With half an hour to go Y.M.C.A. opened, their second innings with a total of 31, and declared closed at the hour of 6. Hutt secured a two-point win. STAFF MATCH. Teams representing J. Myers and Co., Ltd., and W. D. and H. O. Wills, Ltd:, tried conclusion at Duppa street on Saturday, the former team being defeated for the first time this season by 94 runs on the first innings. The losers were handicapped by tho absence of several of their principal players, whilst the winning team were quite up to junior and senior grade form. Some good play was shown by a number of players in batting on both sides, and the fielding of the losers was of exceptional merit, otherwise many more runs would hav© been recorded against them. JUNIOR GRADE. In the final for the junior championship, Institute A defeated Marist Bros. Old Boys bv an innings and 49 runs, winning the championship by 12 points. Batting with seven men. Marist made 44 and 35 (Bmerson 22, Sharp 20). Institute replied with 128 (Osbond 63, Worthington 13, Nelson 10, Reid 10). Bowling for Institute, Bilby secured eight wickets for 21 and N. Fordham and Reid one each, while for Marist, Cudby was the most successful bowler, securing five wickets.
