Considerable haioc was wrought by. fierce winds this week in the orchards and gardens in and about Invercargill. The destruction was especially severe on the fruit, many tiees, if at all exposed, being left as free as if their branches had been shaken by some gigantic hand. Flowers were also destroyed freely; and a number of amateur horticulturists are bewailing the destruction of choice blooms.
