DESTRUCTIVE FIRE
OUTBREAK AT DUNEDIN. PBS PRESS ASSOCIATION. DUNEDIN, March 11. A fire broke out in a shop in the Empire- -Buildingß, Princes street, occupied by the Dunedin Drapery Supply Company (H. Simons), resulting in the almost complete destruction ol tho stock and premises. The adjoining premises, occupied by J. R. Starr, hairdiesser, were badly damaged by smoke and water. The fire also penetrated to Adams Bios., solicitors’ offices. immediately above Simons’s shop, and did some little damage. The buildings were insured for £lO, 600, distributed with various offices, in sums of £IOOO and £SOO each- Simon had an insurance of £2500 on his stock in the London and Lancashire Office, his value being £3OOO. There was a separate policy of £9OO on his stock of fur coats.
