STAFF PICNICS

GORDON AND GOTCH (AUSTRALASIA), LIMITED.

The annual outing of the staff of the above firm eventuated at Day’s Bay on Tuesday. Over eighty persons were present, including members of the staff and their families. The morning was devoted to various races, whilst after, lunch, -which was served in the pavilion, the games took prominent place. Altogether a very pleasant time was spent, and after tea, and prior to the departure for home, the general manager, Mr W. E. J season, presented the prizes to the winners of the following events: Gordon and Gotch Handicap, 100yds: H. B. Hislop I, N. Hassell 2. Ladies' Race: Miss Hackett 1, Miss Paton 2. Sack Race (ladies): Miss Cross 1, Miss Hackett 2. Sack Race (men): L. H. Kelly 1, A. K. Ball 2. Elopement Race: Miss Hackett- and A. Youl 1. Three-legged Race . (men); Haosell and Nichofeon 1. - Three-legged Race (ladies): Misses Cross and Bolton 1. Departmental Relay Race: Stationery Department 1. Publishing Department 2. Broken Melody Race: Miss Pearce and W. Dunbar 1. Nail-driving (ladies): Mrs Salt 1, Miss Hackett 2. Cigarette Race: Min? Paton and N. Hassell. Departmental Tug-of-war: Publishing Department 1, Goods Department 2.
