RUGBY GROUNDS

FOB COMING SEASON. HUTT COUNCIL’S ACTION. The question of grounds for the coming Rugby season was raised ,at a meeting of the Wellington Rugby Union last night. A letter was received from the town clerk of Lower Hutt saying that the council had accepted the tender of the Wellington Hockey Association for the nee of the Hutt recreation ground for the ensuing season. , Mr G. J- Jackson drew attention to the fact that the letter was dated February 23rd, which was prior to the meeting of the Lower Hutt Borough Council. Members expressed surprise at the action of the council. Mr J. N. Millard remarked that it seemed absurd for the council to cut out their own players and give tho ground to town players to use. It seemed that the Hutt Rugby Club was moving in the matter _,and the union might keep in touch with that body. 'Tli is suggestiim was agreed to.
