INVESTIGATION IN AVTCKLAND. The price of bacon, in view of the decline in the price of nigs, will be investigated by the Auckland Prices Investigation Tribunal. Burin?* January there was a decided ihlling-ofl in the price of pigs, which are now about 5d a lb liveweight. The wholesale price fluctuates at* about a shilling, and the rtail price is much higher. The task of the tribunal will be to find out whether'the difference between. the wholesale and retail prices is legitimate in view of present conditions. A complaint has already been received by the tribunal that as high, as 2s 2d a lb retail has recently been charged.
