RIFLE SHOOTING
HAUTEKE DEFENCE CLUB. On Saturday the Hautere Defence Rifle Club commenced shooting in the second round of the Belt series, and* also for a trophy presented by Mrs H. Jones, of Te H-oro, with a seven-shot match at 200 yards. The attendance jot marksmen equalled the TCcord of the club, thove being thirty-four members shooting. The shooting was remarkably good. Rifleman Jones was top scorer with tho fine score of 3-4 out of a possible 35. Following are the detailed scores; —Riflemen C, Jones 34, D. B. Mackersey, G. A&pinali, F. Best and Dep.-Pre*. A. L. B. Synott and Herbert Taylor 28, It. Windley, Pres. J. Guy and Riflemen V. Cottle 27, W. Jepyson and 11. McDonald 28, H. Jones and A. Butt 25, A. Taylor, G. Xewtands, W. (Collier. Kopafca and 11. Lumsden 22, V. Morgan 19. Next Saturday, sth in&t., the Belt series will be continued, with ji sevenshot match «t 300 yards; shooting to commence at 12.30 p.xi*. sharp. Members are specially requested to be punctual.
