A beginning' is apparently being made in the economy campaign (says the “Mnnawatu Times”). A genera] circular to Government departments received locally tacitly implicates all of them in the charges of waste and dishonesty, concerning, amqng other things, “empty tins and sacks,” which it is stated, have been wasted or regarded as perquisites! A recent issne of the Melbourne “Argus” states that Mr W. IT. H. Hill, who is instructing counsel on behalf of Miss Bridget Partridge (formerly Sister Itgouri) in the case in which she is claiming £SOOO from Bishop Dw'yer, of Wagga, for alleged wrongful arrest, is entering the case for the March civil sittings of the Supreme Court. The case will probably occupy several days.
