The “Daily Telegraph” estimates that, tho output of the coal mines in February wilj be a million tons per week less than during December, will lessen the miners’ earning powers to the extent of L 1,250,000, opart from the reduction in wages of 2s already cabled, which means another £500,000. The enormous reduction in the spending power of tho minors will affect many trades. decontroiTof - PRICES. (Received February 2, 8.5 p.m.l LONDON, February 1. The Mines Department announces that prices of coal will he decontrolled on March Ist, when the instructions that, the collieries supply specified districts will also he withdrawn.
