MINERS GO SLOW KIRIPAKA MINE CLOSED INDEFINITELY. FIFTY .MEN IDLE. P*R PRVSS ASSOCIATION AUCKLAND. February 2. The continuation of the “go-clow” policy at the Northern Coal Company’s, mine at Kiripaku culminated to-day in the mine dosing indefinitely. Recently the liquidator of the company (Colonel Holgate) visited the mine, and entered into an arrangement, whereby the men undertook to produce over 100 ton* per day, and. in the meantime, communicate with the federation on the question of discontinuing the ■ “go-, .-low’’ policy. THe federation replied that the “goslow” was to continue, and yesterday the manager informed the men that they must either call off the “go-slow” or take their tools out of the mine. Tire men adopted the latter course, and fifty men are thrown idle. The "go-slow” continued at the three Waikato mines yesterday. PROSPECTS - OF SETTLEMENT. STATEMENT BY PREMIER. “I THINK BOARD WILL BE SET. UP.” The Prime Minister, interviewed by a “Times” representative yesterday as to the present, position with regard to the mining dispute, said: “There ale two or three union* whose replies as to the setting'up of a board to consider the points at issue have not yet been communicated to me. ■'lndirectly, however. I have heard that the executive of the Mine.-’ Federation considers that an agreement has been arrived at a* to the setting up of the board, but I have not yet got it officially.
